Kannadipara Trek

Kannadipara trek is a 3-hour trek that starts from Viripara Waterfalls (5 kilometers away from Ela Ecoland). The trek is organized by the forest department and operates from 8 AM till 4 PM in the evening. The trek route would be through tea plantations, and slowly getting into dense forest and finally reach a view point about the hills. We offer leech socks as the route has a lot of leeches. The trek does not happen if it is raining or if there is a probability of rains.

Plantation Tour at Ela Ecoland

Ela Ecoland itself is a very diverse area within which there is a rich biodiversity. We have a lot of fruit bearing and non-fruit bearing trees, spices, and herbs planted inside the property. We have oranges, a Rudraksha tree, lime, tamarind and a lot more. We have a small farm with a calf and a few goats in the backyard. The tour is more of a soft trek and is organized by Marimuthu, the caretaker at Ela Ecoland. it takes around 45 minutes to complete the tour, the caretaker at the property.

Jeep Trek to Viripara waterfalls

The Viripara Waterfalls within the Kallar River is a very interesting spot many of our guests love to visit. The waterfall is just 6 kilometers from our place and is an ideal place to spend half a day. The waterfall is close to the Letchmi Estate Tea Plantations. The water cool here and most of our guests literally jump into water  The 4X4 Jeep climbs up the rocky formations making it a partial off roading experience. The best time to visit Viripara Waterfalls is during the monsoon, when the water overflows the check dam and people could walk around there.

Letchmi Estate Trek

This is a 4 – 5 hour Trek through different terrains climbing up the Letchmi hill which is close to our place. You would be driving to the trek starting point by an Auto Rickshaw from where you would be trekking the hills to the viewpoints and high grasslands. The Trek would be with a local guide who is well versed with the trekking route. Normal timing would be from morning 10 AM to 3 PM. The trek includes fruits and packed drinking water.

Sightseeing Tour of Munnar

(You would be visiting – Eravikulam National Park, Tea Museum – a Miniature working tea factory, Munnar town, Mattupetty Dam, Blossom Park, Honey bee Tree, Echo Point) This is essentially a morning till evening program, ideally to start by 0900 hours and reach back by 1800 hours depending on the time you spend at each place.

Annakulam Elephant sighting

Annakulam is a local village after Mangulam (19 kilometers away from Ela Ecoland, Annakulam has got a river which acts as a border to the Village and the Forest. The river has got a spring and locals believe its got a ting of salt which Elephants love very much. Elephants come down from the forest in herds and drink water from the River at Annakulam, this mostly happen during the night. Upon interest of guests, we check with the local villagers at Annakulam and send guests to see this interesting sight.
